Water damage restoration in the Twin Cities

Experienced water loss professionals, from the first call to the final coat of paint.

Since 2009, Capital City Construction & Remediation has helped Minneapolis, St. Paul and Twin Cities homeowners recover from burst pipes, flooded basements, appliance leaks and storm damage. Our team brings over 250 years of combined experience in remediation and residential construction.

Water loss remediation is the process of stopping the water, removing it, drying the structure and repairing what was damaged. Many companies only handle the first half. We handle both: emergency water mitigation and the full buildback, under one project manager, so nothing falls through the cracks between contractors.

Every job is documented with photos and moisture readings, which protects your home and makes your insurance claim easier.

FAQs

Water damage questions, answered.

What should I do right after water damage in my home?

If it's safe, shut off the water source and turn off power to affected areas. Move valuables and furniture out of the water, take photos for your insurance company, and call a water damage professional right away. The first 24 to 48 hours matter most for limiting damage and preventing mold.

How quickly can you respond to a water emergency?

We prioritize active water losses. For the fastest response, call us at (651) 994-6844 instead of submitting a form, and our team will get to your home as quickly as possible to stop the damage and begin extraction.

How long does it take to dry out a house after water damage?

Most homes take about 3 to 5 days to dry completely, depending on how much water there was, how long it sat, and which materials got wet. We monitor moisture levels daily and don't pull equipment until your home reaches safe, dry readings.

Does homeowners insurance cover water damage?

Many policies cover sudden and accidental water damage, like a burst pipe or appliance failure. Damage from long-term leaks or outside flooding may be treated differently. We document everything and work directly with your adjuster to help your claim go smoothly.

Can I dry out water damage myself?

Surface water can look dry within a day, but moisture trapped in drywall, subfloors and insulation often stays behind. Without professional extraction, dehumidification and moisture readings, that hidden water can lead to mold, rot and structural damage.

Can water damage cause mold?

Yes. Mold can begin growing within 24 to 48 hours on wet materials. Fast drying is the best prevention, and if mold has already started, our team provides mold testing and remediation as part of the same project.

Do you handle repairs after the water is removed?

Yes. Unlike mitigation-only companies, we handle the full buildback, including drywall, flooring, cabinetry, trim and paint, so one team takes your home from water damage to fully restored.

What areas do you serve?

We serve homeowners across the Twin Cities metro, including Minneapolis, St. Paul, Eagan, Bloomington, Burnsville, Apple Valley, Lakeville, Edina, Woodbury and surrounding communities, plus Northern Minnesota.
